A New Partnership to Strengthen Workers’ Compensation Care
Mountain Land Physical Therapy Partners is expanding its occupational health and workers’ compensation services through a new partnership with OccuPro, a national leader in industrial rehabilitation, Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs), work conditioning, and employer-focused rehabilitation programs.
The partnership will help Mountain Land strengthen and standardize services across its growing network of physical therapy clinics throughout Utah, Idaho, and Montana with one primary goal: helping injured employees recover safely and return to work with confidence.
Building a Better Return-to-Work Experience
Recovering from a workplace injury involves more than simply reducing pain. Employees may need to regain the strength, mobility, endurance, and functional abilities required to safely perform their specific job.
At the same time, employers, physicians, case managers, adjusters, and insurance carriers need clear information to understand an employee’s progress and make informed return-to-work decisions.
Mountain Land’s partnership with OccuPro provides additional tools and standardized processes designed specifically for occupational rehabilitation.
These resources support services including:
- Workers’ compensation physical therapy
- Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)
- Work conditioning
- Post-Offer Employment Testing (POET)
- Return-to-work testing
- Employer-directed injury prevention and rehabilitation services
- Standardized documentation and outcome tracking
By creating greater consistency in testing, documentation, and reporting, Mountain Land can help improve communication between everyone involved in an injured worker’s care.
Supporting Injured Workers and Their Employers
Mountain Land initially began exploring new solutions to improve workers’ compensation documentation within its existing electronic medical record system. That search ultimately led to OccuPro and its specialized approach to industrial rehabilitation and occupational health.
After virtual demonstrations, strategic planning, and in-person discussions, Mountain Land selected OccuPro to help build a more comprehensive and scalable employer services program.
“After a thorough evaluation process, we chose OccuPro because they offered the specialized expertise, technology, and support needed to accelerate our workers’ compensation and employer services physical therapy strategy.”
Rick Lybbert, CEO, Mountain Land Physical Therapy
Implementation included onsite training in Utah along with ongoing coaching, reporting, and support for Mountain Land teams.
Within the first three months, Mountain Land began seeing growth in its workers’ compensation and industrial rehabilitation programs as clinics became more confident using standardized documentation, testing, and reporting to support return-to-work decisions.
Expanding Occupational Health Physical Therapy
The OccuPro partnership represents more than an investment in new technology. It is part of Mountain Land’s broader strategy to become a trusted physical therapy resource for injured workers and the organizations responsible for their care.
“OccuPro has helped us create a stronger foundation for serving injured workers, case managers, and employers while expanding industrial rehabilitation services throughout our organization.”
Derek Overly, Director of Employer Services, Mountain Land Physical Therapy
With standardized processes and scalable infrastructure in place, Mountain Land is positioned to expand FCEs, work conditioning, employer-directed services, and other occupational rehabilitation programs across its clinic network.
These services can help employers better understand an employee’s physical abilities, support safer return-to-work decisions, and provide injured workers with rehabilitation tailored to the demands of their jobs.
A Shared Commitment to Better Outcomes
OccuPro sees Mountain Land’s investment in occupational rehabilitation as part of a larger shift toward more objective testing and stronger collaboration between rehabilitation providers and employers.
“Mountain Land’s commitment to excellence and innovation made them an ideal partner. We’re excited by the early success they’ve already achieved and look forward to supporting their continued growth.”
Jim Mecham, MSIE, OTR/L, CPE, President, Chief Operations Officer & Co-Founder, OccuPro
